STUDENT SUPPORT FACILITIES
IDENTITY CARD:
Each and every student shall need to fill-up an Identity Card form attached with the Prospectus at the time of admission. He/she shall need to carry it while attending the classes and other public places. The Identity Card is valid only for one academic session. On expiry of the Identity Card, it has to be surrendered for renewal. Loss of Identity Card should be reported to the authority immediately. A duplicate Identity Card shall be issued to the student on receipt of the Police report and on payment of Rs. 100/- (One hundred) only.
LIBRARY:
At present the college has more than 6000 numbers of academic books, 07 educational journals/periodical, 10 numbers of encyclopaedias, 60nos of reference books with 30 individuals seating capacity. The quiet atmosphere, plentiful working space make it ideal for peers and staff to help with any question and problems.
Library Rules and Regulations Rules:
- Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
- Silence to be maintained.
- No discussion permitted inside the library hall.
- Registration should be done to get Library Card prior to using the library resources by payment of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred) only. A student can borrow books from the Library for a period of 15 days.
- No personal belongings shall be allowed inside the library.
- Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library
- Using Mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
- The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall need to return the same immediately. A fine of Re 1/- per day will be imposed if a book is not returned within 15 days from the date of issue.
- Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
- All books borrowed from the Library should return to the Library 10 days before commencement of examination. Clearance Certificate should be obtained from the Librarian to sit in the examination.
- Students should renew their Library Card on expiry from the Librarian to continue for the next session.
- If the Library Card is lost by any students, a new Card will be issued to a student on payment of Rs. 50/- only.
- Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises
Admission to Library:
Students are allowed to library only on production of their authorized/valid Identity Cards
Working Hour of the Library:
Library Hours: 11.30 AM to 4.00 PM
Reading Hours: 12.00 AM to 3.00 PM
Library visitors are to sign a Library Register at the Library entrance.
ANTI-RAGGING MEASURES:
University Grants Commission (UGC), guidelines notified vide no.F.1-16/2009 (CPP-II) dated 21-10-2009 on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 (Under Section 26(1) (g) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956) are strictly implemented at DiphuB.EdCollege.
Students will refrain from ragging of any kind and those who violate this rule may be instantly suspended from the college. The matter will be placed before the Anti-Ragging Committee/Governing Body, which will review the incident of ragging and take action according to rules and regulations. Students must take note that ragging results in their dismissal from the college. The attention of the students is also drawn to the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India wherein it is mandatory for the institution to file a complaint with the Police authority.
PUNISHMENTS:
The following could be the possible punishments for those who are found guilty of participation in or abetment of ragging. The quantum of punishment shall, naturally, depend upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the Disciplinary Committee or the Court of Law.
- Cancellation of admission.
- Suspension from attending classes.
- Withholding/withdrawing scholarship and other benefits.
- Debarring from appearing in any internal/practical/ end semester examination or other evaluation process.
- Withholding of results.
- Debarring from representing the institution in any national or international events.
- Rustication from the institution which may extend from 1 to 2 years.
- Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
- Fine up to Rs. 25,000/-
- Rigorous imprisonment up to three years.
While the first 1-9 points can be awarded by the appropriate authority of the college and10 types of punishment can be awarded by a Court of law.
STUDENTS AID FUND:
The college has a “Students Aid Fund”. Deserving and meritorious students coming from Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of the society are given financial aid out of this fund, provided they do not avail any other kind of scholarship.
DISCIPLINE:
- Students admitted to the college must abide by the rules and regulation as prescribed by the college authority. Violation of rules, unsatisfactory progress, irregular attendance, irregular payment of college fees, disrespect to teachers and office staff in any form, adoption of unfair means during examination, causing damage to college property etc. are some of the offences which may invite disciplinary actions like imposition of fine, terminal of scholarship, non-awards of college certificate/degree and even expulsion from the college.
- All forms of ragging in the college campus are strictly prohibited. Strong disciplinary action will be initiated if anyone is found to be involved directly or indirectly in ragging.
- Societies and Associations formed by the students of the college shall be subject to such rules and regulations as the college administration may prescribe from time to time. Only such Societies and Associations which are recognized by the Principal shall enjoy the facilities of the college premises.
- Any notice to be pasted or circulated by the students in and around the college premises shall require prior approval of the Principal.
- All powers of maintaining discipline in the college are vested with the Principal and his/her decision shall be final in all such matters.
- Students will have to switch off their mobile phone inside the class room and in the corridors of the college building. Students are directed to use their mobile phone only in the safe zone i.e. College Canteen and Common Room.
- All students are to come to the College in a decent dress.

Attendance of students in lectures, Tutorial classes and appearing in the Internal Test/Examinations are compulsory. Only those students attending individual classes up to 80% or above are allowed to appear the Assam University examinations. For irregular students, specific University or Council’s regulations shall be applied.
